Stock cleaning literally stinks! It is time -consuming and commercial stove cleaners are poisonous. I also don’t feel like scrubbing stubborn stains and building with Wimpy Cleaners for ages. When I switched from conventional cleaning staff to natural change and found out how to clean, the oven was at the top of my list.
I don’t have a self -packaged oven (which can be a good thing), so I had to find a simple, non -toxic cleaning method. Here you can find out how you can clean your oven with DIY cleaning agents from top to bottom. Plus cleaning tips for those who want a little faster and easier!
How to clean an oven in a natural way
If you are like me, your oven is occasionally (or often in my case) burned into the oven. Then there are the splashes on the sides, stubborn spots and fat on the oven door glass.
My oven has no self -locking function like some. The oven had to wipe the oven with an old -fashioned elbow fat for an hour, while I put half of my body in a dirty kitchen appliance, also did not sound appealing.
A self -evident option is a way to solve this problem, but I have read that the high heat can lead to self -packaged function to burn out elements faster. The oven reaches about 900 degrees Fahrenheit during a self -administered cycle and the high temperatures can cause other problems. Buries of gas fatal carbon monoxide in self -packaging, but it is unclear how much. Enough for experts to radiate the room or leave the house while you do it!
Another option is to dampen cleanly with warm water. The idea is that the hot water makes the dirt softer so that you can wipe it. This can work for smaller chaos, requires a lot of scraping and cleaning.
So my oven is self -packed for the time being … from me!
Natural furnace cleaner: attack methods
It is easy to ignore a dirty oven. Simply close the oven door and pretend it is not there (in contrast to my sink with dirty dishes … um). Finally, all the baking on food leads to a smoky oven! I looked at the top -class furnace cleaning products from the business and was not impressed. They promised simple disorder, but at the expense of lung poison substances. Not something that I want in my oven or in our food!
Fortunately, there are various ways to clean an oven without hard chemicals or a lot of scrubbing. I tried a few natural options before I found a great furnace cleaner: baking powder!
How to clean an oven
As soon as you have the right cleaning staff, it is pretty easy to clean your oven. There are a few steps if you want to carry out a thorough session from top to bottom. Here you can find out how to do it!
Clean the oven stand
Don’t forget the oven stands when cleaning your oven. If yours are not bad, spray with a cleaning solution and wipe off with a damp cloth (more on my favorite cleaner below!). For harder disorder, try an overnight stay in warm water and in the bathtub. After the soaking, use homemade abrasive powder and scarf soil to clean.
Clean the outer door
The inside of the oven door accumulates fat and food, but the outside also becomes dirty. It is important to avoid rough cleaning staff, peelings, steel wool or other abrasives from the outside. These can damage the surface and cause abrasion and scratch.
Soap water and a damp cloth work well. If your oven is stainless steel, an non -toxic stainless steel cleaner or diluted vinegar are good options. A homemade glass cleaner is also ideal for most oven.
Clean the stove
In addition to the oven, this can be my least preferred surface to clean. First of all, make sure that the stove surface is cool. It also helps to wipe all chaos or spots with vinegar right after their introduction. It can sometimes be difficult to juggle with small children and a million!
- If you have a flat glass electric stove, they require special treatment. Custom options such as a small mature of the miff in warm water can work. Use a plastic scraper for disorder (an old credit card can work). Try, soak a cloth into diluted vinegar and put on stuck foods for a few hours. This helps chaos so that it can be easily wiped out. Some sources also recommend making a paste with water and baking powder on a soft cloth to clean Glasherd.
- Start for a gas area by soaking the burners and grids in a soap water in the sink. If you have uncoated cast iron grilles, then you have not Soak as they rust. If you have an electric oven in older style, also remove the drip pans under the burner coils.
- Next, wipe the stove thoroughly with soap water or an all -purpose cleaner. If you use soap, follow this by diving with a vinegar to remove soap residues. Try the wet fabric method mentioned above for pieces.
- Scrub with a little baking powder or soap water down the coated grilles in the sink.
How to clean in the oven
First remove cookware or frames in the oven. I found two different cleaning staff who work very well for the oven.
How to clean an oven with baking powder
It seems to be a simple solution, but baking powder paste is a quick and easy way to eat oven dirt away. The baking powder helps to make the discouraging task of cleaning oven easier. Here is everything you need (really!):
Deliveries
- Spray bottle with water
- baking powder
All I have to do to get a bright oven is to spray the oven with a water bottle down so that it can be moist. Then I will sprinkle baking powder in a thick layer on the bottom of the oven. You can also produce a paste with baking powder and water and then coat the floor and sides of the oven with a soft brush or cloth. Avoid getting it on the heating elements.
Here the process is step by step:
Instructions
- Spray the interior of the oven with water and make sure that it is evenly moist. Pour a 1/4 -inch layer baking powder on the bottom of the oven. When you see dry spots, mix it with the water bottle until it resembles a paste.
- Or mix baking powder and water in a bowl to form a loose paste. Coat the floor and sides of the oven with this mixture.
- Leave the paste switched on for a few hours, preferably overnight. Keep the oven into operation unless you want to see some amateur special effects. I don’t recommend this!
- Wipe the paste with a cloth or an old towel. All the dirt will come with it!
- This can require a few applications for really baked grime.
Note: It is important that the residues were completely removed before using the oven. All remaining baking powder can smoke if you are in contact with the heating element!
Some people recommend spraying the oven with a white vinegar or lemon juice as the last step to simplify the oven. However, I usually don’t find this necessary.
Option 2: Branch basics
The baking powder method was one of my first natural cleaning discoveries, but since then I have found another option that I like even better!
It’s called Branch basics and was warned … Spruding will follow when I am addicted by their products. I had heard of these cleaning staff for a long time before I tried them (skeptical that I am). I like my economical homemade cleaning staff and I doubted that it might be as good as other people said. The industry’s basics is a cleaning concentrate that you can use for almost anything.
It turns out that it is not so good … it’s better! I feel silly because I have been waiting for so long to try it.
Here is the story:
The large oven explosion
It all started when I had to cook for a large group and I had a lot of potatoes in the oven. In my hurry I had forgotten to nudge them with a fork and several potatoes were exploded, of course all sweet potatoes dropped their sticky chaos over the oven stands and the floor.
It was a smoky, terrible chaos. It was also bad because this came shortly before the Thanksgiving company and I made my oven fully functional as soon as possible. The baking powder method would not work because it took several hours if not overnight to work.
I decided to put my new branch bases to the test … I thought if he could clean this oven, he could do everything!
The big unveiling …
I made a concentrated mix of the Basics concentrate of the AST and sprayed it on the oven. I watched the cooked garbage melted from the sides and the ground. After a quick wiping with a brush and a few microfiber cloth it looked like a brand new oven! It definitely beat the baking powder method.
A DIY diva gives after …
After that, you should better believe that I bought a 5-gallon bucket of your concentrate that will take years.
If you could use something like me that makes cleaning a little easier and more pleasant, Branch basics has a discount for wellness mom readers. Use the code wellness mom on this link for a 15% discount on a starter kit for first customers.
I admit that I no longer publish my DIY cleaners so often, now that I preferred natural, ready. Who does not need a small abbreviation from time to time? In addition, the basics of the industry was launched by a mother who needed natural and safe cleaning solutions. (Sounds familiar!) Listen to the story in this wellness mom podcast.
