DIY hair spraying bonds

We have already covered what we don’t want to see in our hairspray cans, but what about DIY hair spray? Sugar gives this hairspray the holding force and it helps to get the liquid a little. Some DIY recipes require a few teaspoons of sugar, but I think I get the best with 2 tablespoons.

The next ingredient is alcohol. This reduces the drying time and also helps the hairspray a little longer. I prefer to use spiced rum for his fragrance, but works every 80 view (or higher) alcohol. Just make sure that it has not added any sweeteners or flavors. Alcohol can also work, but I haven’t tried it.

And the simplest ingredient is water. Make sure you use filtered or distilled water because tap water introduces too much bacteria. Some people replace some of the regular water in the recipe with rose water for a beautiful fragrance and additional hairmaking.

Add essential oils

Essential oils have some great advantages for the scalp and ultimately healthy hair. It is known that rosemary essential oil and lavender oil helps with hair loss. Peppermint feels refreshing and uplifting. Cedarwood’s essential oil has a woody fragrance and is also ideal for hair growth. Here you will find more about different essential oils for hair.

  • 1.5 Cup distilled water (or filtered water)
  • 2 Tbsp white sugar (Dark doesn’t work)
  • 1 Tbsp 80 proof or higher alcohol (Like vodka. I prefer spiced rum for the fragrance)
  • 10-15 drops essential oils (See above for ideas)
  • Boil water and dissolve the sugar in it.

  • Let the sugar water cool down the room temperature and then add alcohol and essential oils.

  • Store in the spray bottle and use how to use regular hairspray.

  • Set the sugar for more or less stiffness/hold (more sugar = stronger hold), but do not add too much, or the hair will feel sticky.
  • I was lucky to combine this with the salt from my beach wave spray to achieve a texture spray. I reduced the sugar by half and added half of the magnesium.
  • This hair spray recipe has no preservative, so it will take a few weeks in the fridge. I found that it has a longer shelf life if it is in an airtight container. Make sure to throw it when it starts to smell or refrain.

How to use the homemade hairspray recipe

Natural hairspray has many cleaner ingredients, but can work a little differently than conventional versions. While I have found that it holds my hair well, it usually works best to use it easily. Spraying too much at once, hair can feel hard or sticky. Try to apply a layer, let it dry and then put it on again if necessary.

If you have curly hair or crave hair, the hairspray can help tame the frizz and give curls more definition. A slight spray with DIY hair spray can also help keep your hairstyle on the spot after using heat tools. Experts are divided into the safety of using hairspray before heat styling tools. While discussing conventional hairsprays, sugar and alcohol Are Both flamable. Therefore, it is probably best to save DIY hair spray after using the curling iron.

durability

Since this product has a water base and has no real preservative, it will not take forever. I think it takes a few weeks when it is kept in the fridge. If you don’t use hairspray very often, you can also cut the recipe into two halves.
