How to make natural lip gloss

I enjoyed doing my own lipstick with natural ingredients, but sometimes a girl needs a little lip gloss. A natural lip gloss can give the lips some shine and color and easy to make. Here you can find out how to make natural lip gloss that are moisturizing and nourishing to give your lips some love!

DIY LipGloss

A popular tutorial for the production of your own lip gloss is to easily combine the Vaseline (petroleum jelly) and colored pencils. Although it is simple and offers some color, this wording has some (big) problems.

Petroleum jelly is a by -product of Oil -Raffining (gasoline) and has some potential side effects. The note indicates poisonous hydrocarbon contamination and the breakdown of skin collages. These toxins accumulate in the body and can even be guided by breast milk.

Then there is the colorful problem …

While colored pencils are technically non -toxic, they should not be used in skin care (much less recorded). The pigments used are proprietary and (in contrast to DIY colored pencils) there is no way to know what they get. In fact, Crayola is solid consumers who should not use their colored pencils for make -up recipes.

Then how do you do DIY -Lip gloss?

Homemade lip gloss recipe

There are many safe, natural ingredients with which you can make your own lip care recipes! A LIP balm recipe is ideal for moisturizing lips and natural lip gloss can do the same. Carriers help to moisture moisture while protecting beeswax and shea butter. You can also add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance and additional advantages.

You can add some shade or make a clear lip gloss. Since beeswax, butter and oils naturally have some color, it will not look clear in the container, but on the lips. For Colorant, Mica works well to add some shimmer. Another option is to infuse the carrier oil with alkanet root for a red pigment. Rede -prayed powder is sometimes recommended, but it doesn’t offer much color and becomes gravel.

How to do lip gloss

After we have removed the option of colored pencil/vaseline, which ingredients do we use? Conventional LipGloss bases use ingredients such as verail. While it turns clearly and easily, it also consists of tongue twisters such as hydrated polyisobuten and pentaerythrityl tetra-d-t-butylhydroxyhydrocinnamate. (Yes, that’s really a word!)

I don’t feel like taking some of it by putting it on my lips!

Instead, this recipe uses carrier oils, beeswax, castor oil and (optional) alkanet root for color. The castor oil is really the secret ingredient. It not only feeds lips, but also gives them this shiny shine. If you don’t want a tinted option, let the alkanet root out. Sweet almond oil, olive oil and jojoba oil are all working here. I did not use coconut oil because depending on the temperature, it changes from a liquid to a solid. If your house gets cold, you can still apply the lip gloss.

Lip gloss container

I often make lip balm as gifts and use the twist -up lip balm or doses. LipGloss is much softer, so it doesn’t work in a chap stick tank. At Amazon there are many lip gloss tubes with an applicator, but I could only find plastic options. The popular Squeeze bottle option is also plastic. Instead, I decided to use a glass roll bottle for this lip gloss.

If you don’t have a bottle, a metal can or a glass glass also works. Remember that the product will be soft so that it will be chaotic. You can increase the beeswax at any time to make it firmer in a glass.

How to make lip gloss with scents

Essential oils are a simple and healthy opportunity to fragrance your lip gloss. Certain essential oils such as cinnamon, clove and lemon grass can also cause irritation and burns in small amounts. Others such as lime, lemon and bergamot are phototoxic. Phototoxic oils can cause burns if the skin/lips are exposed to sunlight.

Some good lips -safe options (if you are really diluted):

You can mix and adapt which fragrances sound well and experiment to create your own flavors!

  • Put beeswax, shea butter, jojoba oil and castor oil to the top of the double boiler or the glass bowl.

  • Heat on medium heat with occasionally stirring until they have been completely melted.

  • Switch off the heat and whisk the oil, mica and essential oils if used.

  • Next, stir in the glycerin when used and stir vigorously.

  • Pour the mixture into your containers immediately.

  • You can store this in a rolling bottle or increase the beeswax to 3/4 teaspoons and store it in a small glass.
  • To infuse the lip balm with natural color, use the alkan set root. I used 1 teaspoon ground alkanet root of up to 2 tablespoons of carrier oil. Let it infuse it for 1 to 2 hours into the top of a double boiler and then strain the powder.
