6 ways to get healthy hair


I was one or six time pregnant and had the wonderful thick hair that goes hand in hand with it. Then comes the postpartum hair loss. For years I have also dealt with hair loss from thyroid problems. These events prompted me to look for the naturally promoting hair growth and hair health.

Some of them off after pregnancy are hormonal and inevitable, but there are natural ways to improve damaged hair and thin hair. I discovered the following on my trip to healthy hair.

How to get healthy hair

The condition of our hair is a good indicator of what is going on in our body. It is important to tackle the body as a whole to improve the health of the hair in the long term. This includes a healthy diet and reducing stress.

I also wonder if these tips help the baby’s hair growth in the uterus. My children all came with a lot of hair, especially my daughter (her hair is in the picture up and she was three years old when she was taken!). Your hair was always thick, curly and easy to work. In fact, she was born with almost two centimeters.

These natural tips also benefit in other ways, so there is not much to lose!

1. Eat enough protein

Protein is essential for hair growth. Make sure you get enough protein (most of us are not!) To ensure that the body has the necessary building blocks for hair. Complete protein sources such as meat and fish are most advantageous for hair growth. Many meat also contain iron, which is also essential for healthy hair.

Food such as meat, fish, eggs and especially bone broth are excellent for hair growth. These foods also have necessary fatty acids to promote healthy hormones and scalp health.

2. Get the vitamins

Some vitamins promote hair growth, especially vitamin C and biotin. The body needs vitamin C to produce collagen, which is necessary for healthy hair and skin. Vitamin C also helps with iron absorption, which promotes hair growth (plus it’s an immune amplifier!). Since the body cannot produce vitamin C, we have to get a vitamin of food or nutritional supplements. Foods such as citrus fruits, broccoli, peppers and spinach are good sources.

Biotin (and other B vitamins) can also promote faster and stronger hair growth. It is also great for skin care. Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin that our body uses to digest fat and sugar. Eggs, nuts, berries, fish and some vegetables provide biotin in small quantities. Sometimes an addition can be helpful to increase the values.

Other nutrients play a role in diseases such as alopecia, hair damage and premature gray hair. It is assumed that zinc deficiency contributes to hair loss. A 2013 study showed that these early gray hair can be caused by defects in calcium, ferritin and vitamin D3. Other factors are low selenium, B12 and folic acid.

A variety of nutrient -rich foods and healthy sunlight (without sunscreen!) Is a must to make hair look the best.

3. The gelatin high

I have already posted the many advantages of gelatin and why it is great for healthy hair, skin and nails. Gelatin is one thing that I eat in any form every day, either in bone broth or in gelatin powder (or both). From an earlier contribution:

4. Equal weight hormones

Hormones and intestinal bacteria play a greater role in health than people recognize. Even if you have the best nutrition and nutritional supplements, a hormone -like weight can derail health. Some studies even show how certain hormone reactions help to heal brain trauma.

Hormones are often a main cause of hair loss or bad hair growth. Unfortunately, there can be many causes of a hormone gathering weight. This is also the reason for hair loss after pregnancy. We can take steps to improve the hair and work to compensate for hormones (here are my top tips to naturally to compensate for hormones).

Stress and lack of sleep are two important contributors for the hormone -making weight. These factors can also trigger dandruff. According to the dermatologist Dr. Robinson can lead high stress mirrors to a high cortisol. When these stress hormones rise, it dissolves inflammation, greasy hair and scalp. This oily structure can then lead to dandruff.

5. Use the right products

Although the main causes of poor hair quality and growth are internal, external treatments can help improve existing hair and prevent breakage. From castor oil to gelatin, I have tried many DIY hair treatments that I really like! Here I wrote about some of my favorites:

Things like bleaching hair and the use of conventional hair color in the local stylist are not good for the health of hair and scalp. Not to mention all toxins in conventional hair care products! However, natural hair products can also cause problems.

Conventional shampoos and products have their own problems (e.g. this is one reason why I have decided to create my own line of healthy hair care products! They are great for different hair types, such as curly hair or dry hair

Another option is a natural shampoo based on the Tehm -based shampoo like this. I tried it myself and had great results. They do not peel like traditional shampoos, but let my hair clean, nourish my scalp and are pH balances.

6. Avoid styling damage

If you eat the right food and use a healthy shampoo, you only have so far that you have an unhealthy hair care routine. Things like tight hairstyles damage hair follicles and can lead to hair loss. The drying of wet hair in high heat and the use of heat styling tools can lead to hair damage and end shared.

Over -claimed heat tools can cause dryness and hair breaks. A simple way to avoid this is to use a lower heat setting and avoid over -claimed curly, flat iron and hair dryer. Heat loose curls are a popular and less harmful way to get volume without heat.
